welcome to 2010.

i'm actually pretty excited for this year. it marks a lot of things.the start of a new school, more projects and advances in my career and a hopefully more dedicated approach towards blogging.

i think i can safely say i cannot wait to see what happens, and this little gem will be with me all the way.

so, a couple of days ago i braved the cruel temptress that is the boxing day sales and picked up something i've had my eyes on for ages. this perfect dove grey jacket. i mean, black leather jackets, navy leather jackets, dark grey (even) leather jackets have become a bit blah in my opinion. so when i laid my eyes on this milky, dove-like shade of grey i swiped it off the rack and hurried to the till.

what do you think of it? i cant wait to give my sickly sweet outfits a feminine - yet edgy - kick! my wardrobe colour palette is being dominated by coral, nude, dusty pinks and pastel colours, and i have so many ideas of how to wear this jacket! i hope my lacey, pearly, frilly filled clothes can cope when this bad boy moves into The Wardrobe.

i'm clearly way too excited. expect a post coming up soon about nail colours (hint - you may be able to spot which colour i'm head over heels for at the moment) and other purchases i've indulged in so far.

i have mock examinations for the next two weeks and i'm surrounded by notes, revision guides... all that stuff. wish me luck!

Fashionista Du Jour 2.0?

Pardon the dust! I've been cleaning up the layout a bit recently. The old layout was far too squished so I opened it up so I now have space for nice, big, pictures and everything just looks a lot prettier. Do you agree?

It's not THAT much of a change, don't worry gang. More like a spring clean... in winter.

But with a new layout and a new year approaching I feel a lot more inspired to post! Happy days :) 

I'm also getting really bored of my current header, so if any graphically-skilled people want to have a go at recreating the header be my guest! Bare in mind I do like the blog title font, but apart from that go crazy! Like edgy, pretty, lacey, punky style, I suppose. My email is in the sidebar so you can sendme them there. Oh, and I'd like it to be the same size as it is now. I dont mind if its a bit taller than it is, but same length.

Also, what would you guys think if I changed the blog name? I don'tknow. Hmm....

Anyway, expect a blog post later about a new purchas I'm really excited about! It's a wardrobe staple, and so so perfect. Can you guess? You won't have to wait long!

vintage lace, cosy cardigans and winter fun

HIIII. So the winter holidays are in full swing, London actually had some snow (I know, right?!?!) and I'm finally getting into the christmas spirit! Although, I'm going to have my head in the books a lot this holiday, I got pretty stoked when I woke up to a thick (well, thick in london standards) blanket of snow covering everything in sight. so pretty :)

I broke up from school this tuesday! End of term = mufti days. Lovelovelove 'em. So here's what I wore:

In between revision and gazing at the snow I've been happyhappyhappy about the return of one of my favourite shows, The Beautiful Life! It showed on the CW for two episodes but because no-one knew about it (everyone was obsessing over something called Vampire Diaries?) it got cancelled. Boo. But now we can alll watch it worldwide as they'll be posting an episode on Youtube every week. The first 3 are already up so go watch!

Come on, Elle Macpherson, Mischa Barton and cameo appearances from the likes of Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Richie Rich? What more could you want?!

FUNNY AINDREA MOMENT OF THE DAY: Went out for milk and bread. Came back with new cardigan, shoes on order, Mary Kate and Ashley's Influence (how late am i?!?) and 4 magazines. Oh Aindrea, you do make me chuckle.

one woman, one man, one show!

YEP. I know what you're thinking - "OH. SO AINDREA FINALLY DECIDED TO POST ABOUT THE SHOW. ABOUT TIME TOO!" After like what, a month?! I'm a bad bad blogger. But I've got a video for you to watch so you can forgive me! :D This is going to be a long post. But trust me, it's a good 'un and well worth reading!

So i've finally decided to write about the 1.WO/MAN show I did with the BBC during London Fashion Week. It was SUCH a hectic day. Waiting for Vitaminwater deliveries, Fashion.Music.Style deliveries, sorting out models, mishaps with collection fits, co-ordinating the Dolly Rockers who were set to perform (<3) and alll whist being filmed for the BBC film which'll be on BBC2 pretty soon ;) Here's some behind the scene photographic evidence to give you a glimpse into the hours of preparation we had before the show ;)

So after allll the stress had passed, runway rehearsals had took place and seat goodies had been sorted we all sighed in relief. Soon after, London College of Fashion official came in. Then the panic started as the queue built up in the hundreds! We let everyone in - bloggers, fashion press, buyers & a coupla slebs - and the looming securityman muttered something like "OI. SORRY LOVE, WE'RE AT FULL CAPACITY. NO-ONE ELSE CAN COME IN" 

UH-OH. SPAGHETTIOS. Thankfully, more people could be let in as Frances of Happy Because, Shini from Park and Cube et al managed to come in (love you guys <3)

The Dolly Rockers sang "Boys will the Boys" - which, i admit, is still stuck in my head - clad in Dr Martens, ripped tights, cute tutu skirts and bundles of attitudes before strutting down the catwalk followed by our delicious models.

Anyone want to engage in a bit of "Spot the Blogger?" I invited a bunch of fashion bloggers to the event. If any of you are reading, THANKS FOR COMING! Was lovely meeting you all! <3 <3 <3

The soundtrack I here you ask? Its all about the chooooons. It was a mix of Tiga - Shoes (seriously. I could not stop saying "Whats that sound? Its the sound of my shoes" afterwards. Check it out"), Poppy and the Jezebels - UFO, Simultaneously by ??? and sounbites from Tristan by Patrick Wolf. The latter song was somewhat of the entire teams favourite song. Partly because we met him, partly because he rocks!

The shoes are by Irregular Choice! Aren't they darling? Thank you Danny Sullivan <3<3 You know, he stopped me before the show and was like "Hi Aindrea! ... I saw your blog!" Inside I was like *DIE.OMG.SAIDGSFIUGSDFSDGFS* But don't worry kiddos. I was soooo professional and although I can't remember what I said, it was probably along the lines of "Oh wow! That's so cool" Haha. Socially inept...

I spot Charlie Matthews from Pinstripe Prince and Constance Victoria! I'm winning Spot-The-Blogger ;)

& Check out the footage from the night in the form of the last snazzy BBC webisode. The hour long film will be on BBC2 probably by the end of the year, but I'll keep you posted! The video is just the runway performance, but for all the manic plus extra footage that wasn't in the webisodes, you should deffo watch the show when it's shown ;)

in a rut. baby, i'm stuck.

It's that weird moment in the year. We're in the middle of seasons and although it's pretty much Winter, I still don't want to embrace full winter fashion JUST yet. My fashion mind is at a state of confusion as the weather develops bipolar disorder. One day it's pretty warm, next day is verging on Artic weather. I'm in a seasonal fashion rut.

So I've been pretty much living in my vintage denim shirt. I kinda love it. It's my go-to outfit maker. My comfort blanket. 







Sorry for the in-changing-room pictures. I was actually undergoing an epic try-on @ Topshop (but ended up  buying nothing) and thought I should snap a couple of pictures with my Blackberry :) Pictures like this make me craze the DSLR I should be getting for Christmas *Keep your fingers crossed for me guys*

Personal Update: I've began contributing to Fashion156! Have posted 2 posts so far and have had a pretty good response to them :) Yay! So glad to be part of the team after being an avid reader for so long. I'm going to start contributing to Amelia's Magazine and am working on my first article for them as we speak! So look forward to that :)

why, hello there ;)

Woah, woah, woah. What's this I see? A post! From me? Get outttttt.

I've been so busy lately. Juggling looking at Sixth Forms, with GCSE coursework jitters and settling into winter TV habits.

I've got something potentially awesome (and challenging) in the works. I'm pretty stoked, and hopeful I'll be able to stick to it, but I definitely think it'd be an awesome addition to the blog. I really want to expand this blog y'know? We'll see... I'm thinking of redesigning too. What do you think? Eliminating a sidebar and making room for bigger pictures perhaps? Hmm... I wonder.

& I know I said I'd post 1.WO/MAN & BBC Blast coverage soon, but I really want the mini episode to appear on the BBC, so will post it all together when it's up :) Oh, and here's a picture of my outfit for the show for giggles. I have better photos  (with more pleasing facial expressions) But you get the idea... The dress is vintage! It was ridiculously long before so I got it tailored up.



(It is quite obviously I should never be famous. Imagine the paparazzi faux pas I would commit? I dread to think of it!)

London Fashion Week: Those cobbled streets make me weak

Eley Kishimoto! Gotta love the socks and sandals and the prints! The collection was very typical Eley Kishimoto.

Mulberry was lovely! Set in Claridges Hotel, a gorgeous fairground theme! We snacked on toffee apples (I'm ashamed to say, it was my first one ever) and mini diet cokes and adored the sickly sweet designs as models (and adorable black pugs) paraded SS10 designs. I need to Alexa bag and fringe boots... stat!

So I hotfooted it from Eley Kishimoto where I met Laetitia of Mademoiselle Robot to Topshop Unique. But before that, I frantically Blackberry Messenger'd Disney Roller Girl so we could meet up and hop on the fashion bus (which I only JUST discovered! My fourth time at LFW and I'm just discovered it. To think, all this time I was taking taxis and public transport) We nattered about fashion week and blogging then arrived at the Topshop venue, took a quick peek in the pre-show reception, said a quick hello to Susie Bubble (DRG said hello, I just stared in awe. In fact, I died. There's something so awesomly inspiring about Susie that eradicates all manner of speech and leaves me in a trance. I'm sure she thought I was some weird freak-a-zoid or something. Boo.)

I loved the show! I've been going to the Topshop Unique show since my very first fashion week at the tender age of 14, so it's sort of tradition to go to the show! Did my fair share of front row spotting - Alexandra Shulman, Kate Moss, Philip Green & Daughter, Alexa Chung, Pixie and Peaches, the usual.... - then had to run home to prepare for the ON|OFF show I was doing the next day (I was this Monday - 21st Sept - and was fab! Can't wait to blog about it and natter about meeting MORE bloggers and the show in general) Saw Stevie of Discotheque Confusion who is probably one of the sweetest people ever! 

This FW has been awesome! Got to meet the people I've been meaning to meet for a while and actually felt like a part of the community :) Aww!

So today consisted of John Rocha, Osman, Kinder Aggugini and Ashish (OH MY GOD.)

You'll have to wait on the Ashish photos (as well as my outfit picture) because I need to go through them. But darling, Ashish blew my mind!

More extensive blog posts later. I've just finished submitting my articles for the day, and have got a jam packed day ahead! Topshop Unique, Mulberry, Nicole Farhi and Eley Kishimoto! Result!

Had the pleasure of meeting Laetitia from Mademoiselle Robot (whose hair really is that gorgeous shade) and Kathrin of Fashionista Diary who was lovely and we watched Osman together! Saw Samantha and friends from CSM and finally got to see the new press lounge (I kinda love it!)

The switch to Somerset House was definitely a good move! Apart from those cobbled streets! Not so good for people who are so aptly attracted to obscure shoes *cough*

Sorry!

WOW. I haven't posted in the longest time! London Fashion Week and preparations for my LFW show have seriously taken over my life right now. Not to mention returning to school!

But LFW is fast approaching - tomorrow! - and this blog will burst back to life! I promise!

I have some exciting things in the works, so watch this space! I'll be posting everyday during Fashion Week and follow my Twitter (see right sidebar) for a bitesize insights into my life!

colour me coral

I took unnecessary amounts of pictures of these shoes. Mainly because a) I love them to pieces & b) I really wasn't in the mood for a full length outfit pose so hopefully a gazillion shots at every shot imaginable will compensate!

But aren't they darling? I haven't really thought what I'd wear them with yet. One thing's for sure, they'll definitely make an appearance at London Fashion Week! They are so light and comfortable, it's like walking on a coral cloud! They have this really awesome retro feel to them too.

They're from Topshop by the way. £65 squids. So so so worth it.  I'm kinda obsessed with coral things at the moment. Coral, florals and nude colours. Anything girly and delicate. I then continue to crush the airy-fairy mood it gives off and team it with something leather.

On a more LFW-y note...

Invites, save the dates and confirmations have started to emerge, and it's looking to be an awesome week. I've been planning the Your Label show and it's set to be awesome! Musicians, fashion bloggers, and some magazines will be attending... fun stuff! I'm looking forward to meeting all the bloggers I've been speaking to recently. Everyone invited for that matter! 

I started talking about my awesome shoes and ended up diverting back the LFW. It seems, everytime I open my mouth LFW spills out. So I'll stop rambling and leave y'all in peace!

Though, I will promise to have an outfit post either this week or beginning of next week! Promise :)

magazine love

Ok. So I'm in love with LOVE. I've obsessed and read every page from the last issue since I bought it. The last issue had been a constant source of inspiration for me, and the people at LOVE HQ definitely stepped it up!

I bought the Coco Sumner cover because I simply can't get enough of this chick. I Blame Coco for my addiction to her editorial. Its awesome. Burn effect and all. Check it out below.

I <3 Dorothea. Probably one of my favourite features in the magazine. And you've gotta love Charles Guislain, the boy wears lipstick better than I do!

The issue is dedicated to Under 21's! Which is awesome! My favourite fellow youngsters have to be Tavi, Julia, and Charles Guislain - for sure. But there are so many youngsters doing awesome things! I say youngsters... most are older than me. But still!

*cough* I should of blatantly been featured *cough* (JOKE)

I'm really looking forward to the issue of POP magazine. I'll probably dissect and induldge in LOVE for another week, then toil over the awesomess that is POP. Inspiration overload!

Also, I've decided to add more structure to Fashionista Du Jour. I aim to post 1 outfit a week, 1 inspiration post and 1 random injection of fashiony goodness (read: I haven't figured about what my third post should be on)

Which means more regular updates, and more fun!

Fashion Week is the only exception. Expect daily updates and full Twitter coverage :)

Got loads to tell you, but I'll save that for another post!
