Theres a sneaker movement starting... and Footlocker needs you!
I dont know about you, but I'm definitely seeing more and more trainers out there now a days. Hi-tops have always been in fashion, but 'sneaker addicts' have been showing off their wears in a number of different colours and styles, sneakers are in. Believe it or not, I used to be a massive sneaker head, and over the last few weeks videos featuring people doing extraordinary things have emerged online.
Footlocker, the undeniable haven for the Sneaker Movement, has inspired sneaker art in Paris, with videos showing a man on a mission in London (true 007 style) and a cheeky sneaker streaker running high speed through a beautiful piazza in Milan.
In light of all this sneaker frenzy and to make the most of all this enthusiasm surrounding the trendy foot candy, Footlocker has set up www.itsasneakerthing.eu where fans worldwide can come and share their love of sneakers with fellow sneakerheads. Perfect for those looking to embrace the trend which is catching on fast! The site includes some extreme sneaker stories (check it out for a giggle and a gasp!), blog entries, exctiting images, entertaining videos and so much more! It is set to become the must visit online destination for trainer enthusiasts everywhere, so come and mingle with the sneaker community! Go on, It's a Sneaker Thing! See you there!
And who knew sneakers could be considered as art too? Young french street artists, Nico Roux, clearly has a little sneaker addiction, most particularly laces. He transforms the streets into his own dynamic, bold and fiercely modern images. See below for this lacey work, or visit his Flickr page for more.
And check out this amazing video of his work...
Become a fan of the Footlocker Europe Facebook group and join the ever growing members of the sneaker movement. Theres so many ways to get involved, the possibilities really are endless so I'm definitely going to get my creative juices flowing. If those images arent inspiring enough (and they definitely are) check the website http://www.itsasneakerthing.eu, vibrant and bold it's perfect for inspiration!
